Geothermal energy is a renewable energy which comes from hot geological formations. Drilling technology from oil and gas industry can be used to drill into these formations to extract heat and bring it up to the surface. This heat source can be use to generate electric, provide energy for industrial manufactures, provide heat to buildings, etc.
